The design development phase of the architecture design process is made up of various documents that together define the parameters of the project. These design development documents include civil drawings, architectural drawings, structural drawings and mechanical drawings. The main purpose of the design development phase is to define and develop the important aspects of the project including the exterior and interior of the building, layouts, room sizes and the materials you’ll need.

At its roots, architecture exists to create the physical environment in which people live, but architecture is more than just the built environment, it’s also a part of our culture. It stands as a representation of how we see ourselves, as well as how we see the world.
